Dr Samira ElAtia

Principal investigator

Dr. Samira ElAtia is Professor of Education and the Associate Dean Research, Graduate Studies and Internationalisation at the Faculté Saint-Jean of the University of Alberta.

She is also co-director of the Institute for Intersectionality Studies. With a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and an MA from Illinois State University, her research explores themes such as bias and fairness in assessment practices, school leadership at the intersection of gender, assessment of graduate attributes in Higher education and educational legislation.

His academic journey began with a bachelor’s degree in management from the University of Lomé (Togo). He later pursued a postgraduate certificate in leadership and school administration, followed by a master’s degree in education and a Ph.D in transdisciplinary studies, both from the University of Alberta.

Amegbo Kodzovi Ehonam Sena

Research Assistant

Amegbo Kodzovi Ehonam Sena, a research assistant at the University of Alberta’s Campus Saint-Jean Faculty, is currently pursuing an interdisciplinary master’s degree in arts. He holds a bachelor’s degree in literature and philosophy, a bachelor’s degree in contemporary history, and a master’s degree in international relations with a specialization in diplomacy. He has professional experience in management and conflict transformation. A passionate football fan, he closely follows the sport.

Driss Berdouzi

Research Assistant

Driss Berdouzi is a research assistant at Campus Saint-Jean, University of Alberta. He is currently pursuing a post-degree Bachelor of Secondary Education at Campus Saint-Jean, where he is preparing to become a secondary school teacher.
Before arriving in Canada, Driss taught mathematics at the university level in Morocco, in several faculties and engineering schools. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics, as well as a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences.
Passionate about mathematics and education, Driss deeply believes that every student carries a unique potential waiting to be revealed. He sees teaching as a true act of inspiration and a way to build confidence and autonomy in young people, in order to prepare them to meet today’s challenges.

In his free time, Driss enjoys discovering captivating series and movies, playing video games, working out at home, and spending quality time with friends. He also enjoys exploring different cultures and opening himself up to new perspectives.

Lee Ann Atkesone

Research Assistant

Lee Ann is a research assistant at Faculty Saint-Jean. She is currently a student pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Honors in Physiology. Being a francophone, she is delighted to work in bilingual spaces and employ her French. In her free time, she enjoys painting, music, and sports.
